Finally, a real update! Don't look so thrilled. ;)

It's been lazy around here. Compared to school at least. But I haven't been lounging about for days on end. No, mom would not have that! *sigh* I've almost finished a book though, I'm partially unpacked and put away, and mom is having me running around doing chores.

It's good to be home.

Libby is going to Prom. Yes, hard as it is to think about it, my darling little sister is going to the Prom. She's held together quite well considering how last minute it's all been. You see, the prom is this Saturday. That's two days away, for those of you who don't like to count. TWO DAYS!

She asked one of her classmates out on the spur of the moment. Mostly because she really wanted to go to Prom but didn't want to go alone. The boy she asked had already been turned down by three other girls, and seeing how he and Libby are pretty good friends, it seems like a pretty good match. Neither of them have to go alone, and they aren't under any kind of real pressure to impress the other. It's grande.

What's even more grande is the fact that Libby seems to have taken impromptu lessons from me. I love spontaneity, doing things for the hell of it, making split decisions, etc. But I never did it when it came to prom. *Oddly enough* The point is that Libby isn't really paying all that much to go. She's buying the tickets and paying for dinner. Normally, it's the guy that pays for everything, but since her date is paying for his tux, Libby decided to pay for everything else.

You see, Libby got her dress for free from her soccer coach. It's a really beautiful dress, and fits her like a glove. (She actually looked like a GIRL!...for the record, I didn't say that!) Dottie was kind enough to lend her a black shawl and a necklace. Kristi and I are going out later to find her some shoes and earrings to match. And because Libby's hair is so...curly and Mufasa-ish, she's doing it herself instead of getting it done at a salon. (Granted, I got my hair done for prom for free one year, but hey...)

Essentially, my family is paying near to nothing for her junior prom. Next year will be different I'm sure, but for the meantime, the total cost will only be around one hundred dollars. That's damn good. :P

The fact that my baby sister is going to prom is a really hard pill to swallow. *long sigh* I'm just hoping that she'll have a good time. :P

OTHER than that, there's really not much to tell. I'm about to make strawberry freezer jam, help mom and adam clean off the porch, and do other mindless things. :P Megan, I'm going to try and get up there to see your recital tonight. I'm attempting to find a ride. :)
