Marriage Dream.
Aug. 29th, 2004 06:04 pmA while back I had a strange dream where I got married. It was second semester of last year, and at first I didn't pay any attention to it. But then, upon thinking about it, I really got a little surprised by how much went on in the dream and how symbolic it was.
To begin with, my family and I had just gotten back to our house from another wedding. Apparently, I had been a bride's maid in it. I was a little disturbed by this because I was still in my dress, and it was the exact same color and style of one of the dresses that Kristi liked. (Egads!) So that was the first freaky thing.
The second one was that Mom had gone to the dry cleaner's to pick up some articles of clothing for another wedding we were getting ready to go to. (Two weddings in one day, crazy...!) She was really late getting back with the clothes, and apparently, the clothes were nowhere near the right fit. The tux she got back for my dad was shrunk. So small that the ring bearer probably could have worn it. I don't think there was anything wrong with her dress, or with Libby's. But she still didn't have my dress out. When I started to complain that she had forgotten about me, she just waved her hands and told me to go into her bedroom and flip my bridesmaid dress inside out.
So I did, and when I did, my pretty hideous bridesmaid dress turned into a really gorgeous, two-piece wedding dress! My hair was swept up like Audrey Hepburn's, and I was taller and thinner.
Fast-forward a little bit, I'm standing in the entrance area of my church. I'm fussing over the train of my dress, apparently it's just not wanting to work the way I need it to. I look up and see a very nice looking gentleman. He's blonde, light eyes, and pretty square built. Not incredibly tall from what I could see. He just smiles at me and chuckles, and all of a sudden I have a gut feelilng that I do not want to get married. But I think that's just the nervous jitters.
Originally, I thought that the guy I saw in my dream was going to be my husband. However, I have a feeling that, since most people don't see the face of the person they are going to marry, I doubt that was him. Plus, I've never seen the person's face in a dream before. Like how I met Josh in a dream once. I knew it was him after we had met in real-life, but I never saw his face in my dream. I think it's probably more of the presence of him that I remember.
Moving right along, I think I have finally figured out who it is that I was going to marry in my dream. Unfortunetly, I don't think that I should post who it is just yet. I'll leave you in suspense. ;)
