I am quite pissed off with our internet connection. We're supposed to have wireless connection. All internet, all the time. And what does it do? It kicks us offline whenever the computer goes to sleep! Can I get a big "What the FUCK?" from the back row? Bah. Stoopid internet, precious.

It sucks, I know. May I suggest setting your computer to not go to sleep?

Agreed. If you have the computer set up to not go to hibernate and just set your screen saver to "Blank", you'll get, essentially, the same effect. *shrug* As with laptops, though, and I'm not sure if you have one, that is not efficient on battery power, anyway... either method...

Wireless, even in the dorms? That sounds kind of stupid, to me. Wireless for all other facilities, sure, but why not have a direct access point in the dorms so that kind of thing doesn't happen...? *heavy sigh*

Actually, it means you can haul your computer anywhere in the dorm (common room, kitchen, &c) and still get access. Which is also "neat."

I never got to experience this kind of problem...i wasn't in the laptop program and had to provide my own, heavy, old, clunky desktop for my bright college days.
