There are some nights that are so beautiful, you will never forget them. And it has nothing to do with the stars that you see, shining in the sky. Or the fire works from the fair. Or even the people you have to face, and the obstacles you overcome. What matters, what really matters, is when you can look at someone you love dearly and say to yourself, "Yes, this is what it's all about. You are my friend...
And I love you."

Ring dinner tonight was wonderful. After a week of waiting we finally got to put on our class rings. Let me tell you, what a rush. One of the most important rings of my life, and I finally have it! I got to celebrate with three of the most wonderful people that ever come into my life. And for that I am thankful. I think tonight really changed a lot of people in different ways. I know I feel different, when I would take a glance in the mirror, I didn't recognize myself. Sure, I was actually wearing makeup and I took the time to do my hair, but that was just the start of it. I don't feel burdened any longer, everything is light. Granted, this feeling probably won't last all that long. But I am enjoying it as much as I can right now.

On our way back up the stairs to our rooms, I told Liz what I was thinking when she and I watched the fireworks with Rose and Anna. (Between times when the cop was telling us to move the car and us complaining about campus cops.) I told her that even though every single one of us was different, we somehow fit each other. Like how we would hold our hands in youth group during prayer. We would lace our fingers together so that our palms were touching. We had been taught to fold our hands this way, because the weakest part of the hand is in the middle of the palm. While the strongest part of the hand are the knuckles. So when you lace your fingers together, your strengths cover your weaknesses. And that is what we do, as all friends are called to do.
